This year will be the fifth consecutive year that TruDomes have attended The Glamping Show. A highlight in our calendar, we are more excited than ever to be headed to the NAEC Stoneleigh, to show off our British manufactured geodesic domes. With a fair few years of experience under her belt, we chatted with our very own Kelda Bassett about The Glamping Show 2021, to find out what its all about and why every glamping business owner or aspiring glamping business owner should be attending this year!
So Kelda, you must be a bit of a Glamping Show expert by now, how have you seen The Glamping Show grow and develop over the years?
Kelda: 2021 will be our 5th consecutive trip to the Glamping show! What a 5 years it has been too! The Glamping Show showcases the ‘best of the best’ in the industry and we’ve seen existing and emerging businesses and arrive and thrive really over the last 5 years. It’s a great industry to work in and it’s encouraging to see the new products and innovation and just the heart and soul of the businesses there. It’s inspiring to be around. I’ve seen that the show appeals increasingly to the worldwide market too as exhibitors and attendees become more diverse and want to learn from what is by now a very established glamping industry here in UK.
The Glamping Show appeals to many audiences, who should be considering attending The Glamping Show?
Kelda: The Show is for existing businesses looking for new ideas and ways to expand. It is also great for aspiring Glamp site owners that have some space or are looking to buy some land and would like to diversify and make an income from their land assets.
What can we expect from The Glamping Show this year? Last year, The Glamping Show was one of the only big trade events to go ahead, with a focus on online assets and digital media… what can we expect this year?
Kelda: I think we can expect a busy show. Staycations are big business and so I would expect many businesses to be back with bigger and better stands than previous years and I’m sure we’ll welcome some new innovations too. Prepare to be inspired!
TruDomes have a great deal to showcase this year, with plenty of exciting developments. Tell us about where people attending can find TruDomes and what they can expect this year?
Kelda: At TruDomes we’re keen to show a selection of geodesic domes that will lend themselves to glamping, dining and just fun and functional outside spaces this year. We have some new and improved added extras and even some new team members to bring to the show!
The Glamping Show is the biggest trade show event dedicated to glamping and luxury camping, with many leading figures in attendance. Who can we expect to hear from there? Surely, this is a fantastic opportunity to hear from the experts in glamping?
Kelda: Absolutely! If you can attend the show in person you will be able to meet with the experts that can help you with your planning, designing, building and then listing and marketing your business too! You’ve heard the saying, “everything but the kitchen sink?”, well that doesn’t apply here – it’s everything and the kitchen sink (which incidentally can be solar powered)! If you can’t attend in person, then it’s well worth signing up to the online only seminars. Sarah Riley of Inspired Camping and Inspired Courses is definitely a must-see!
TruDomes have a hands on approach, with a real focus on supporting their customers beyond purchasing a dome. They have a great understanding of what is involved in launching a glamping business, and the challenges that you may face. Will you be around at The Glamping Show to help and answer any questions?
Kelda: Yes, we’ve learned a lot from our time in the industry and from working so closely with our customers so please come and visit us at stand OSA170. We’d love to chat and share our knowledge with you.
Geodesic domes are popping up all over the place, and the glamping industry is growing, with staycations becoming infinitely more popular in the last year or so. What do you see going forward for the future of glamping domes and the glamping industry in general?
Kelda: The future of glamping is looking very bright indeed and the demand for domes isn’t slowing down anytime soon. There’s a saying that the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, but the second best time to plant a tree is today and that principle certainly applies to starting and expanding a glamping business. We have customers that have already paid back their start-up investment after their first season of operation so now is the time to turn that business dream into a reality.
Don’t forget to book ahead to come and see TruDomes’ stand at The Glamping Show 2021, 16th – 18th September.
