The Dream: Land, Lifestyle & New Beginnings
Charlie, a teacher, and Gareth, an engineer, had long envisioned a different pace of life – one rooted in nature, hospitality and family. Their goal was simple: find a piece of land where they could welcome guests, keep animals and create something meaningful together.
After years of searching, they found their opportunity in Tynant. The property required extensive renovation but they embraced the challenge. Discovering Glamping Domes
Originally, the couple planned to develop a traditional caravan site. However, access limitations forced them to reconsider their approach. The breakthrough came during a visit to The Glamping Show at the NEC where they experienced a geodome for the first time.
“The space was so unique – quirky, peaceful and surprisingly quiet inside,” Charlie recalls.
That moment reshaped their vision. Glamping domes offered not only a practical solution but a distinctive guest experience – something that aligned perfectly with their goals.
Finding The Right Supplier
Like many new operators, Charlie and Gareth’s first supplier experience didn’t go as planned. Product issues and lack of support created ongoing challenges, particularly around bathroom installations. A Lifestyle Transformation
What started as a side project has become a full-time lifestyle. Charlie has since left her teaching career to focus entirely on the business, continuing to refine and expand the guest experience.
The site also reflects their personal passions with rescue ponies, chickens, sheep and family pets adding charm and authenticity to every stay.
