Nestled on Cornwall’s Rame Peninsula, WilderMe is more than a glamping destination – it’s a place where nature, wellbeing and inclusion come together. Founded as a Community Interest Company (CIC), WilderMe was created to make nature, wellbeing and outdoor experiences more accessible to the neurodivergent community.

Through autism-friendly retreats, SEND family breaks and nature-based wellbeing programmes, WilderMe provides a welcoming environment where guests can unwind, reconnect and enjoy meaningful experiences.

The Challenge

As WilderMe grew, the team needed accommodation that reflected their values while meeting the practical demands of a retreat destination on Cornwall’s rugged coastline.

They wanted a solution that combined comfort, durability and visual appeal, while remaining in harmony with the surrounding landscape. Most importantly, they wanted to make their retreats accessible to a wider range of guests.

Key requirements included:

  • High-quality accommodation suitable for year-round use
  • A structure capable of withstanding Cornwall’s unpredictable coastal weather
  • Comfortable, welcoming spaces for retreat guests
  • Wheelchair-accessible accommodation
  • A design that complemented the natural surroundings
  • A solution aligned with WilderMe’s commitment to inclusion and sustainability

The Solution

WilderMe chose TruDomes geodesic domes to create distinctive accommodation that reflected the quality, inclusivity and connection to nature at the heart of the retreat.

The domes provide a comfortable and secure base for guests, combining protection from the elements with panoramic views across the Cornish coastline.

The new accommodation has also enabled WilderMe to offer wheelchair-accessible stays, helping make nature-based experiences available to more people.

Key features include:

  • Wheelchair-accessible accommodation
  • Robust construction suited to Cornwall’s coastal environment
  • Cosy, secure interiors for year-round retreats
  • Panoramic windows connecting guests with the landscape
  • Comfortable spaces designed around relaxation and wellbeing

A distinctive design that complements the natural surroundings

“Guests enjoy feeling protected, secure and sheltered while sleeping in the domes.”

The Result

The TruDomes have become an important part of the WilderMe experience, giving guests a warm, secure and comfortable place to relax while remaining immersed in the outdoors.

For WilderMe, the domes represent much more than an accommodation upgrade. They have helped strengthen the organisation’s ability to deliver its mission of making nature-based experiences more accessible to the neurodivergent community.

Benefits include:

  • Expanded access to inclusive nature-based retreats
  • Wheelchair-accessible accommodation
  • A more luxurious and attractive guest experience
  • Comfortable accommodation throughout Cornwall’s changing weather
  • High-quality, durable structures built for long-term use
  • A stronger foundation for future growth and continued impact
  • A space that supports WilderMe’s wider mission of inclusion and wellbeing

The result is accommodation that helps guests feel safe, comfortable and connected to nature, whatever the Cornish weather brings.
