When Helen and Ashley left Berkshire for the rolling hills of Carmarthenshire, they weren’t planning to build a glamping business. They simply wanted a different way of life, surrounded by nature, animals and open countryside.
What began as a small camping experience has since grown into Frowen Fields Eco Glamping & Camping, an authentic off-grid retreat where two British-made TruDomes sit at the heart of the experience.
The Challenge
Helen and Ashley wanted to create a destination that reflected their own vision of a slower, simpler way of living – somewhere guests could escape the pace of modern life and reconnect with nature.
Rather than creating a conventional luxury glamping site filled with technology, they wanted accommodation that would feel immersive, peaceful and at home within the Welsh countryside.

The Solution
After discovering TruDomes at The Glamping Show, Helen and Ashley immediately saw the potential of the geodesic dome.
They invested in their first 6m TruDomes dome, assembling it themselves and welcoming their first guests in summer 2020. The success of that first dome led to a second – a pre-owned TruDomes that had already operated at another glamping site before being relocated to Frowen Fields.
Today, the two domes offer distinctly different experiences: Humble provides a private escape beside its own stream, while Preseli View looks out across the Welsh countryside from the heart of the campsite.
