Becky, a big fan of the TV series Escape to the Chateau, was inspired by its creativity. When they moved into their home, they discovered an unused section of land that had once been a nursery for growing Christmas trees. Motivated by her vision, Becky and Tim cleared the area, removing overgrown brambles and dismantling old polytunnels. They then added a Classic 7 TruDome in a peaceful, tree-lined spot, creating the perfect setting for a glamping escape.
Blending Comfort with Nature
To enhance the guest experience, Tim and Becky designed a cosy outdoor area to complement the dome. They built a sheltered field kitchen and installed an outdoor toilet and shower room. Inside the dome, they added thoughtful touches, including a wood-burning stove to keep guests warm during chilly nights and a solar fan to regulate the temperature. Initially, the property was 100% off-grid, using a gas-heated shower. However, they later upgraded to an electric shower and installed a power supply for greater convenience.
Achieving Five-Star Success on Airbnb
Tim and Becky’s hard work quickly paid off. Thanks to their attention to detail and stunning location, they gained a five-star rating on Airbnb and earned Superhost status. Their dome, located near popular destinations like Chew Valley, Cheddar Gorge, Bristol, and Bath, attracted a steady flow of bookings.
