Set within 12 acres of beautifully kept gardens, The Gardens Wedding Venue in Kent offers a truly enchanting backdrop. With its modern barn, elegant gazebo, and linked tipis, it’s a favourite destination for unforgettable weddings.
But one challenge remained — the unpredictable British weather. Outdoor ceremonies, though magical, risked being disrupted by sudden showers or chilly winds.
The Weather Challenge
The gazebo is a standout feature of the venue, offering a stunning open-air setting for vows. Yet its full potential was often limited by seasonal conditions. Couples planning spring or winter weddings needed reassurance that the ceremony would go ahead as planned, rain or shine.
Enter TruDomes: A Stylish Solution
That’s where TruDomes came in. Known for innovative, durable, and beautiful structures, we were excited to help. Our goal? To create a practical yet elegant shelter that protected the gazebo without spoiling the venue’s charm.
We designed a bespoke 18m geodesic dome that would fit perfectly over the gazebo. It offered ample space, clear sightlines, and a design that worked in harmony with the gardens.
Seamless Design and Collaboration
The project was collaborative from the start. We worked closely with the venue team, making sure our design reflected their vision. Every detail was considered — from sizing and structure to aesthetics and assembly.
The result is a structure that feels like a natural part of the landscape. Guests stay dry and warm, but the garden views remain front and centre.
A Dome That Does More
The dome does more than offer protection. It enhances the wedding experience. Brides and grooms can exchange vows under elegant shelter, with flowers and greenery still fully visible around them.
Guests enjoy the moment without needing umbrellas, coats, or cover. The structure offers comfort and atmosphere, while still feeling outdoors.
